The Egmont Palace is a true architectural gem next to the Sablon, where over four centuries of history come together.  Its rich and sumptuous interior is adorned with tapestries from the 16th and 17th centuries, paintings, busts and refined decoration that embellish the reception rooms, the hall of mirrors, the winter garden and the grand staircase, a faithful replica of the one at the Palace of Versailles.  Formerly the residence of the powerful Egmont and Arenberg families, this listed building has hosted prominent historical figures such as Peter the Great, Louis XV and Voltaire. Today, it houses the reception rooms of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
