The walls of La Maison des Arts tell a story

What if we took the time to listen to what the walls of the Maison des Arts have to tell us?
The Heritage Classes are inviting six Brussels school classes on a journey through time and the various spaces of the building to discover its origins and retrace the history of those who once lived there.
Throughout the activity, pupils will handle scale models to understand how the house’s layout has evolved within its neighbourhood. They will piece together patterns featuring fantastical characters, decipher symbols and set out to find traces left by changes to the building’s interior.
They will also take a look behind the scenes of the building by exploring the areas once reserved for servants, to understand the layout of the house and the daily lives of its former inhabitants.
