Camille Lemonnier Museum and Writers' House"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Although the Mus\u00e9e Camille Lemonnier has been in existence for almost 30 years, it remains a little-known gem in the heart of Ixelles, and can normally only be visited by appointment. The majestic 1889 mansion with its neo-classical fa\u00e7ade has been home to the Association des \u00e9crivains belges de langue fran\u00e7aise since 1946, which organises its board meetings and literary activities in eclectic salons decorated with paintings borrowed from the Mus\u00e9e d'Ixelles. A staircase leads to the museum, where you can admire the reconstructed study - including the personal library and art collection - of Camille Lemonnier. Lemonnier was one of the most important French-speaking Belgian writers of the nineteenth century. The art collection, which includes works by Auguste Rodin, Emile Claus, Joseph Lambeaux, Th\u00e9o Van Rysselberghe and Juliette Wytsman, continues in the adjoining room.
