Campioni-Balasse House"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The H\u00f4tel Campioni-Balasse was built around 1890 by architect Georges Dhaeyer for Justice of the Peace Charles Campioni-Balasse on the corner of Chauss\u00e9e d'Haecht and Rue de l'Est. Built just 3 years before the neighbouring Maison Autrique (Victor Horta's first house in Brussels), this Flemish neo-Renaissance mansion illustrates the attachment of a certain Brussels milieu to historical styles at the turn of the century. Its red brick fa\u00e7ade, with its corner loggette and stepped gables, combines neo-Gothic and Flemish neo-Renaissance elements.
